Have you tried THIS ISN’T BACON yet? The plant-based meat has become a huge favourite of both vegans and flexis in the UK for having the taste and texture of the real thing.
The company, THIS, which has been operational since 2019, grew significantly last year, hatching deals with both supermarkets and restaurants like Chilango and Honest Burgers.
Now THIS is expanding its range by debuting new products for spring including vegan bacon lardons, vegan chicken skewers and cocktail sausages.
According to Plantbasednews the Bacon Lardons, which will retail at £2.95, is already in Tesco, with Sainsbury’s and Waitrose later month.
The company describes them as ‘mini bites of smokey, crispy, sizzling plant-based bacon that look, taste, and cook like real meat-based lardons, and are perfect for a carbonara’.
And there’s more to come too with vegan chicken skewers reaching Tesco next month. They will come in BBQ and Lemon & Herb flavours and will retail at £3.50.
Meat-free cocktail sausages will arrive in Sainsbury’s next week, and in Waitrose on May 12th retailing for £2.75.
Andy Shovel the co-founder of THIS said: “THIS ISN’T BACON has been a huge hit for our brand. We’ve had thousands of customers show us their carbonaras or salads, containing chopped-up rashers.
“It made perfect sense to create a lardon variety, with a fattier and more intense flavor – to make sure they really sing when scattered into or onto a dish.”
